Aperture is one of the most important factor for woven wire mesh in stainless steel.
Aperture refers to the opening between adjacent parallel wires, and it can be measured in mm according to the following forms: Aperture(mm)=25.4(mm) / mesh count-wire size(mm)
From above, we can see that it is important to understand the wire and mesh count first to get the correct idea of aperture.

Wire Diameter refers to the round wire before weaving process. Wire sizes can also be described in number of wire gauge such as SWG, BWG or AWG, while SWG is defined as British Emperial Standard Wire Gauge, SWG is defined as American Standard Wire Gauge and BWG as Birmingham Wire Gauge.
